what makes and models smartphones can sync with fitbit

Does anyone know if the sony xperia z1 (and the new xperia z1 compact?) sync with fitbit?

As of now, they do not.  Here is the current list of compatible devices.

For a mobile to sync, there are both HW and Andriod requirements on the mobile.  See the Andriod App section of the help forums.  It could be your device is missing someth there.

Up until mid Dec, the number of andriods that could sync was limited to basically just Samsung devices, so the number was greatly expanded just a month ago after a beta test for them.

I am successfully syncing my Xperia Z1 Compact with my flex right now. 

I am running Android 4.3 and the phone build number is 14.2.A.1.114
