Best Holiday Snack Replacement?

At this time of year the treats are amazingly delicious. And when I see a box of turtules, I just can't resist eating all the turtles in one sitting. Does anyone have any suggestions on a healthier holiday treat? Slowpokes, maybe? I've tried rice cakes but there is nothing cake about those...blah!

Also, I'm on that all cookie diet where I eat enough cookies that I just can't eat anymore. So far, I have run out of chips ahoy and oreos, but I still want more. Does anyone know how many bags of cookies one must eat before I don't crave them anymore? I ate 3 bags of Oreos today and I'm heading to the store to get more. I wonder if the vanilla ones would work better beause too much vanilla makes me sick. Hmmm...to be continued...

Sharing is caring.

I don't know Oreo's come in many flavors now. I might buy a few bags of Mint and Chocolate Berry.

who knows see what else they have available? Bring it all home 🙂

Seems that if you can't control quantity when you begin that the best tool might be not to begin?  I like almonds as a snack, or a cheese stick.  If I HAVE to have something sweet I'll eat an Atkins  bar-the artificial sugars make them self limiting-but even those will kick my cravings into high gear so I avoid them as much as possible.

The holiday snacks that I enjoy the most are grapes and apples. Those are the kind of snacks my mother buys this time of the year!

Fruit is good for a natural source of sugar, since that seems to be what you're craving. You could also look into homemade breakfast bars, since they have sugar in them but it's tempered with healthier ingredients like oats and fruit.

Also, one way to help your habit is to portion the cookies, etc. out. When you buy them, repackage them into individual servings and only take one serving out. You can also try freezing them. It makes them a lot harder to eat!
