I don't think any food group should be eliminated in the pursuit of weight loss, but each food group should be moderated by what your body needs not wants. I love carbs too. I never gave them up and never would, but most of my carbs come from fruit. I have one treat every day, which is a biscotti and popcorn or pretzels in the evening. If you're talking bread, pasta and rice, well you don't have to eat them every day, you can make choices that are better options as the rule and use the rest as the exception. There is no magic pill, you have to do the work if you want to lose weight or eat more healthy or a combo of both.

Hi @Andrewmom , a nice welcome to the Community!

I agree with what our friend  @emili mentioned. No food group should be eliminated from your diet. The mission here is to reduce your intake of carbs, or change how you take them in. As emili mentioned, fruits and grains can provide you with them.
As someone who has family members with special diets, due health issues, I know how difficult it is to restrain yourself when you have a whim of some carbs.
In the family, we try to have just 1 meal with big load of carbs (rice, pasta, etc) every 2 days. But eating fruits, has helped us a lot and there are so many ways it is prepared, that you don't get bored. E.g. dehydrated, pealed an raw, coked, baked, juice, etc...
We also try to have wholemeal bread whenever possible instead of white bread. I fills you better, with less.

Good luck and keep healthy!
