Determining Calories via Grams in meats

When I log my calories for meat, I don't know if it is 30gram cooked or 30 gram raw. For example for 85 grams of lean ground turkey its 30 calories. But 85 grams of lean ground turkey raw, is different than it cooked. So is it 30 calories for 85g raw, or 85g cooked?

Thanks!

Hey there @Shilent01! I was having the same inquiry a while ago, so I've found that if your meat is part of a recipe (let's say a stew) you will need to weigh in the meat before you cook it. If you were to eat it just like that (like a steak) you can weigh it cooked.

Also, the main thing I found is to not to worry if you were to weigh it before or after, it's okay! Sometimes some meats might be more dense or the dressings/sauces/side dishes might have more calories than logged, so it gives you a bit of room to acknowledge those missing calories. Cat Very Happy
