If it's not already out there, someone should should come up with a program for this! I hope you find one, it's a great idea. Would be nice if it had metadata that could be searched.

Personally, I just use Pintrerest for things. I'll scan handwritten recipies and pin them on there. I have a few cook books I use, but most of mine are online, so pinterest works wonderfully.

I have used some commercial recipe software and was extremely disappointed in how difficult it was to add the ingredients and get correct calorie counts etc. Seems like something always had to be "fixed".
If anyone has a GREAT program, I'd love to know also.

I use a notebook and break it down into sections, i.e. appetizers, meals, dessert. It works very well. I just pull my blue notebook down and it's all there, I like it all in one place. It's great because all you need is 3-whole punch lined paper, and a notebook, and dividers if you wish to break it up in sections. I have it with my other cookbooks.

my fiancee uses Evernote for this. Ever since I showed her the app, she's been using it and seems to like it a whole lot.
It allows you to organize things in a few different ways, and you can clip stuff from the internet or type in recipes as well.

DebFit, do you happen to remember what brand of commercial recipe software you used? I'm wondering if they are all created equal?

I use a binder with copy paper. I have dividers to separate the different areas, for example here are a few I have...crockpot, meats, hotdish, cookies, breads, soups etc You can really customize things this way with as many/ few sections as you would like. If I find a recipe online that I want, I copy and paste it, print it out, use my hole puncher and slip it into the appropriate area. If there is a a recipe in a cookbook, magazine, same thing, I make a copy, punch it and file. It is super easy and I love that I can customize it how I would like it and it's also easily accessible.

I use MyRecipes.com. You can save recipes and put them in different folders also. It links with Cooking Light ipad version too. If there is a Cooking Light recipe you want to save, it will save it to MyRecipes.com I use it all the time!

My husband got me the Cook'n version 11 software I had been wanting for a mini weight loss goal I achieved. I have to say, it is pretty fantastic. It is everything I hoped it would be. I can even sync it to my pinterest to bring recipes there. It does the nutrition information (doesn't seem acurate a lot to me though) and makes menus and shopping lists.

I use Evernote for recipes and it has been great! I tag each one with what kind it is and if I have or haven't made it yet. After I make it the first time I add any notes for the next time such as "Too salty" or "takes longer to cook than the recipe says". My recipes are synced to my phone which is helpful if Im at work and want to stop at the grocery store on my way home but don't know what I need. I can then pull it up on my tablet while in the kitchen for easy reading while making it.

I would recommend Pepper Plate (FREE) It is a cloud organizer that allows you to compile shopping lists and tag. It also pulls in from quite a few sites automatically.

Not only can I organize recipies, I can download recipies, have nutriitonal info in recipies, plan what I'm going to feed the family for the week, and then IT CREATES MY SHOPPING LIST. You can get a free 30 day trial. It is inexpensive. I've used it for 2 years and couldn't live with out it.
