Have hypoglycemia.. I hate having to eat every five minutes. Are there any high protein/carb snacks that will keep me full (and my blood sugar levels higher) longer?
This would help so much!

Best AnswerI have used Rolled Oats and Quick Oats. what ever I have at the time. eather or will work.
Best AnswerGuuuuuurrrrrrrrllllllll I got you!
Boiled eggs with or witout the yolk. With yolk 70 cals without 33.
Perky jerky. It's turkey jerky that's only 50 cals an ounce.
Mix chopped fruit with chopped up cheese sticks. That way you can do half a cheese stick for each serving!
Hummus or bean dip! Loooovvve it. Also walmart sells this crackers called veggie crisps, and they are 120 cals for like 18 chips. ( or something close to that ).
Protein shakes. BUT I buy skim milk and the powder to do it myself. I use EAS whey protein shake it's 150 cals for two scoops. Which means I can use one scoop and still get protein and fewer cals. Or you can make a giant serving and just have little cups when you need it.
These are my go to snacks when I'm feeling low of suga! I hope that helps. I've had a really hard time trying to find snacks that are light and high in protein. Try looking at cookinglight.com as well.
Best AnswerI really need recipe ideas. I have developed some pretty severe allergies in the last 6 months. No chicken, turkey, beef, pork, grains (including rice, oats, wheat) or legumes (including all beans and soy). I have problems getting my protein levels up. I have gained weight like crazy since I started eating the foods I am not allergic to. I would love food or recipe ideas. The doctor sent me to work with a nutriionist and every idea she came up with included one of the things I can not eat.

Best AnswerCarol, thatnks for the encouragement. I can not eat peanuts (legume), nor can I have rice (grain). I haven't found any bread I can eat. I have worked with a nutrionalist and she was no help. My diet consists of fish and eggs. The fish isn't easy to take to work and eat unless it is tuna and I quickly burned out on tuna. I can have treen nuts and eat a lot of those, but have found that they are really putting the weight on me and I am even more uncomfortable.
Best AnswerI haven't tired quinoa. I am almost afraid to. I appreciate the ideas. Please keep them coming. I didn make the protein truffle balls last night. Can't wait to try them today.
Best AnswerHi Iwinn, I have a question for you where do we get the PB2 powdered peanut butter???????
Thank you and have a wonderful day. And keep on stepping. your fitbit friend.
Best Answer@tpauline I found PB2 at Wal-Mart the other day (needs to be a Wal-Mart with a grocery section, obviously). Didn't buy it, but I was surprised it was there, especially in my town, where eating healthy isn't generally the priority for people.
Best AnswerThank you so much for the info. there is a Wal Mart in Mountin View CA next town over. I will check it out.
Have a wonderful Healthy and Peaceful day. Keep on stepping. Your fitbit Pal.
Best AnswerQuinoa is great when flavored with curry and dried fruits and nuts. Check out Deborah Madison's recipe for Quinoa Timbales. Yummy!
