I batch cook meals to a recipe and portion out to eat later. How can I set up the serving size of a meal on the Fitbit? For example the recipe might make four servings so how can I log just one serving of a dish or do I have to do the maths with every ingredient?

After doing all the math for your recipe, you'll figure out how many servings you want it to be, then you create a "custom food"
For example let's say you made your own homemade lasagna and it can be cut into 6 squares in the pan making 6 servings. Your custom food would look like:
Food name- "MK217 Lasagna"
Serving size- 6 bars (or something resembling a piece of lasagna)
Calories- 1900 (for the whole lasagna)
Now when you go to eat 1 of the six pieces, you'll click on your custom meal to log it but change the serving size to 1 bar (or more if you had more!) which would equal to 317 calories for that one piece. Log it and there you go!
Hope this helps. If not let me know.

I do a lot of my own recipes and cooking because of a food allergy. Until Fitbit gets the function here, I go to MyFitnessPal and use the recipe box. You can manually enter your ingredients, or copy/paste a link to a recipe online. It computes calories and nutritional information. Then I enter it here as "Create New Food", putting in all information. It's now in my search for any additional servings/ leftovers, or when I make the recipe again.
