My favorite Paleo dinner:
Whole chicken, cut away backbone, flip over on sheet pan and smash flat. Cover in duck fat and thyme, s/p.
Bake in 500 degree oven for 30 min then turn temp down to 450 for 20 min. Remove from overn and let set covered in foil for 10 min.
YUMMY, and perfect every time.

Could just eat the duck fat and thyme, perhaps poured over some deep fried pork chops covered in
bacon rinds, served with melted cheese dip, or warmed crunchy peanut butter, diluted in coconut oil.

HOW do you come up with these things?! I can honestly say, it has never occured to me to dip bacon into peanut butter...

I seriously doubt caveman had the ability to process peanuts into peanut butter. More and more I see this "diet" is abs fad
Of course it's a "bs fad".
The women aren't out foraging for roots and berries, which was most of the paleolithic diet.
The men aren't away for a week hunting deer and mastodon, which was a minor part of their diet.

you are missing the point of paleo. or, you're being purposefully insulting. i can't tell anymore.
the point of paleo is to avoid processed foods. something which i think we call all agree is a good thing. ever since going low carb/paleo for nearly two years now, i've eaten more vegetables than i ever have in my life. personally, i prefer raw vegetables. as a side salad with my dinner, i can easily grab a couple handfuls of spinach, drizzle on some olive oil and a bit of salt and i'm good to go. other vegetables i've incorporated into my diet that i never really liked before are mushrooms, broccoli, eggplant, kale and a whole host of others.
so, please quit insulting those that want to try or are doing paleo with your "ohhh...if you're doing paleo, you should be out foraging for food, killing mastadons with spears and sleeping in caves."
i'll concede that maybe paleo isn't the right thing for everyone. one size does not fit all. so, if your diet works for you, great. and if paleo works for someone else, let them celebrate their success as well. that is all.

Everyone -- Let's keep this civil and productive!
A specific diet may not be for everyone, which is why there are more than 1 out there. If you do not agree with someone's choice, either keep it to yourself or provide productive legitimate reasons that will continue the conversation in a positive flow. Thank you to all for your cooperation!

Your interpretation/implementation of "paleo" sounds great, it's good for you physically and
mentally, and something nutritionists/dieticians could well agree with. It's not the hight meat
and fat content that a lot of people associate with paleo. The vegetables, the fruit and tubers
(these are complex carbohydrates and high in required nutrients) are great basis for a diet.

and that's exactly what i'm trying to clarify. i do eat quite a bit of meat and i don't avoid fats. however, as i said, i, and most everyone i know that is doing paleo also eat a LOT of veggies. i agree that paleo is probably higher in meat/fat than most other diets. but, it also encourages a wide variety of vegetables and that's the part that most often gets glossed over. and it's annoying to hear 30 second sound bites on news channels like "get skinny eating bacon", and then people take away the message that paleo is all meat, all the time.
then again, shirts that say "Broccoli!" probably don't sell all that well.

It's not a matter of the "Paleo Diet" or any (fill in the blank) diet, but a matter of what is the best
nutrition (the nutrients your body needs to live a healthy life) that you can afford. Most of the paleo
diet was stuff that was gathered (fruit, seeds, tubers, etc.) and little meat (which was hard to come
by (unless you include grubs). Meat was a once in a while pig out, when hunting was sucessful.
