I had taco salad with rice for dinner last night. How do I know what calories is from that salad?

For any food you eat, be it a taco salad or fruit or whatever, you have to either scan a barcode (if it has one), or look it up where you add the food you're logging (for instance "Taco Bell taco salad") or, if you're making it yourself, log the ingredients individually.
So you would log however many grams of meat, however many grams of tomatos... and then continue on with each ingredient. All food, no matter what type, is logged one of those three ways.
If you make the same thing the same way, like if you make taco salads at home and always with the same amount of the same ingredients, you can create a meal, which is really just a list of ingredients grouped together.

Also if you got it from a restaurant or Fast food place. Go tot he website. Most list the Nutritional information now
