I switched to a new Whey Protein Isolate and notice that it severely makes my stomach hurt. I've done some research already and it appears that I have a whey allergy. Anyone else have this issue? If so, what protein have you found that's still high quality but can help me avoid this issue? It gets expensive to constantly buy protein in hopes that it won't hurt my stomach.

It is absolutely, positively, without a doubt, totally and completely unnecessary to take ANY protein supplements. Not only are they unnecessary, but they are harmful in many ways.
It would take a skilled nutritionist to plan a protein deficient diet, and it could only be done if the person eating it was starving to death.
Adding protein from dairy sources helps cancers grow. In fact, dairy products contain casein, which is the most potent relevant carcinogen known.

Yes, it’s possible you do not tolerate whey protein in general, or that particular brand of whey protein, see this article about it.
I’m lucky in that I have no problem with whey protein (at least not the particular brand I’m using), but I don’t have any problem with dairy products in general. Although whey protein is popular because it’s cheap and has a good profile (all the necessary amino-acids), there are many alternative source of protein (in powder form). Just experiment until you find one that works for you.

Do you live near a store that sells supplements in general? I went into one years ago when I was looking for a builder type shake to help my senior mother who had lost weight due to an accident. They wanted her to gain weight, but she simply couldn't eat enough. The store had a variety of single serving packets which they gave me for her to try before we ended up purchasing one. I actually offered to buy them but I think they were samples from the suppliers.
As @Dominique mentioned, there are other proteins available (soy, pea, hemp, rice) if you feel you don't tolerate whey very well.

I can't handle whey protein either. I switched to Vega, a plant based protein, and I haven't had an issue since. I love all of their products!

I use a vegan, GF protein powder that I really like; it was the first that didn't taste like chalk to me. I've tried a few different ones, and found that keeping it plant based doesn't upset my stomach the way egg or whey proteins do. I can give you more info about the one I use if you're interested.
