Hi everyone. I am still learning with regards to what to eat and what not to eat. I read someplace that to calculate net carbs you take the total carbohydrates - fibre - 1/2 sugar alcohol = net carbs. Where we log in our food on our fitbit there is no place for sugar alcohols. Just wondering how people that track their carbs log this to keep their fitbit counter accurate?

It’s unlikely Fitbit will support "net carbs" (a concept promoted by advocates of low-carb/ketogenic diets). See this older topic for a similar discussion.

I'm pre-diabetic and just met this morning with the dietitian recommended by my endocrinologist, and she said that "net carbs" is not a helpful number when figuring out the effects of a food on your blood glucose. Total carbs is actually more accurate. Insulin-dependent diabetics were calculating net carbs instead of using total carbs, and then not taking enough insulin.
Even if you're not diabetic, total carbs is a more accurate representation of the effect of a food's carb load on your body.
