Can't set up an Inspire 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a 17 year with special needs.  They do not have a cell phone.  They recieved and inspire 3 from Christmas from their grandparents.  I am having difficulties setting it up.

If I try creating a child account under mind, the app will only let me link Ace products.

If I set it with my gusbands phone,  my youth will recieve his notifications.

It doesn't seem that I can set it up with the computer.

Can any one help?

Hi there, @Cierrasunrise. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having issues trying to set up the Inspire 3. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that if you are trying to set up the Inspire 3 in a child account, it won't allow you to add any other Fitbit devices than the Ace ones. Child accounts only allow Fitbit Ace. People must be 13 or older to set up any other Fitbit devices.

For more information, see How do I manage my child in the Fitbit account?

Thank you for getting back to me.   Is there a way to set up Inspire 3 without ,y youth having a cell phone?

@Cierrasunrise You're very welcome!

Regarding your inquiry, please note that the Fitbit app for computers has been discontinued and it's now required to have a compatible mobile device to set up and sync your Fitbit device. For more details about the compatibility requirements, click here.

@Cierrasunrise , if you have an older, Fitbit compatible cell phone that is no longer being used, you could use that cell phone to setup the Inspire 3 for your 17 year old to use.  A phone plan wouldn't be required, because you can just enable WiFi on that phone and the Inspire 3 will sync back to the Google/Fitbit server to store all the data that the App collected when it is within WiFi range at home, or anywhere else that WiFi access exists.  That way, there is no additional cost for a phone plan and the Google/Fitbit account can be in the youth's name as well.
