Exercise shortcuts not synced to the app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the new update, my device only shows the 3 most recently logged exercises. Where are my shortcuts? I've double checked my Exercise  shortcuts multiple times and it's synced correctly. Now I have to scroll through 38 modes to get to a walk??

Same happened to me after the update. And now when I exercise, the screen shows only the amount of time and heart rate--no longer shows calorie burn.

I have the same issue. I contacted support and they said this is intentional. Apparently this is a "feature" not a "bug". Very frustrating because it didn't used to work this way.

Same issue and it sucks. If this by design then I will be ditching my fitbit and switching to garmin. The google product managers are seemingly brainless clowns who are hell bent on making the products worse with each update.

I have the same issue.   This is a horrible change.   I don't know what they are thinking.  But I hope whoever is in charge of this change reads these threads.

Just a quick update on this. It's actually not as bad as it first appears.

Whilst you can't set shortcuts now, it does remember the last used exercises and automatically pins them to the top of the list once they have been used. So after doing your regular exercises at least once, the list should look something similar to how it would of with your old shortcuts, and you won't have to scroll the full list again.

I think I still prefer the old way but this does at least work.

Actually it is pretty bad.  It only stores 3 "recent" ones.  Which means if you have more than 3 exercise types you regularly do, you then need to scroll through a list of 40 exercises on a tiny little screen.   Very bad UI design.

This is in response to a much requested feature. The last 3 used exercises are moved to the top. I guess Fitbit thinks that we only do 3 types of exercises.

Fitbit tends to make changes without thinking about those that do not want a change. Personally I think we should either have the option to stick with the old format, or have the option to choose how many types of get pinned to the top

Requested by who? (where is the thread with people requesting the change to instead of seeing their 6 favorite exercises, to instead scroll through 40 exercises that they don't care about - just to find the one they want?

So your saying people wanted to not have control of the exercises listed on their Fitbit - I don't think that is true!   You're entitled to your opinion (and I have no desire to debate you - since unless you work for Fitbit it makes no difference unfortunately), but I don't think ANYBODY wants to scroll through FOURTY exercises to select the one they want (especially when there is already 6 Exercise shortcut functionality that worked fine until this update - and is still in the App - but now does nothing - and you don't think that is confusing/wrong???)

As an IT expert with over 20 years experience developing UI's, this change makes no sense from a usability and UI standpoint.    I don't know why you are defending this change.        In anycase, if they really wanted people to access the extra 40 exercises, they could have "potentially" made this workable if they at least stored the last 6 "recently used" ones and then provided a "more" button to see more - but storing 3 is just a really bad idea.

Found in the Product Feedback, its been an ongoing request for the Sense and Versa lines since their release. The last several years people have requested this feature for more tracker models

Same. And not only are my exercise shortcuts not showing, I no longer get lap notifications and the recorded laps are not in the denominations I have selected in the app settings. It’s super frustrating. This on top of the intentional removal of distance from the Home Screen while tracking a run is likely going to push me into switching to garmin. Such a waste

Rich_Laue: 2nd request.  Where is the link that says this? Please provide.

The bottom line is it is clear NOBODY (except for you) is saying they like/want the change - especially the way it was implemented.

Obviously I am not alone based upon all the other people not liking it (see other peoples messages on this and other threads).

So if you want to help, if you have any contacts at Fitbit, please let them know that this needs to change before they lose more and more customers.

That's a very bad change. Instead of having my 6 favorites I now have only the recent 3 activities and am forced to scroll through a 30+ list to start tracking. Who really thinks that is improvement? First killing the web dashboard, now this nonsense.
They should change that as fast as possible. If showing the last recent activites on top of the list make the list longer than 3 items! The best solution would have been: keep the favorites and change the order by recent usage. That way everybody would be happy. Now it's just frustrating to use my Fitbit tracker.

All - to add insult to injury, I created a helpdesk ticket - and the "senior" customer support team writes: "please be informed that we're not receiving any updates or even reports regarding the missing Exercise shortcut for the Inspire 3."

I've even provided the link to this thread and they still say that!!   They just don't get it.  All, please submit helpdesk tickets and reference that you are experiencing the same issue JUST like my case # x-xxxxxxxxxxxxx

It just boggles the mind.
