Exercise shortcuts not working after software update

ANSWERED

Hi All,

Prior to a software update, on my Fitbit I had three exercises listed which is perfect. Now I have 40 and I can't work out how to reduce the list.

I followed the following instructions and that hasn't worked. Assistance would be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance :0).

How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
  1. On the Fitbit settings page, select your device under the Devices menu.
  2. Click Exercise Shortcuts Edit and choose an exercise to add to your shortcuts list.
  3. Click Save.
  4. To reorder the exercises in the shortcuts list, click and drag an exercise to change its position.
  5. Sync your device.

Hi, @BelleButtons , the short answer is that you cannot reduce the list.  However the good news is that once you go through the trouble of selecting from that long list just once, your chosen activity will be at the top.

So if your favourite is, for example, WALK, the first time after the update you will have to scroll to find it.  After that it will be first and finding it will no longer be an issue…

Repeat for your other 2 preferred activities and they will also always be at the top.  So no worries!

And if you ever want to do anything very weird, you might just find it around number 39 or 40 and it will be there waiting for you!

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the forums!

This has not been true for me on my Fitbit Inspire 3. The device often auto-selects RUN (even though I've turned off auto-detect in the app, and Run is not what I'm doing). Then I have RUN in my list. Not what I want.

Hi, @Bellabz you will need to turn off “auto start” on your exercise app for exercises you do not do or do not wish to be auto detected or activities that you do not use.  You need to do this on your Inspire 3 in the exercise app, because this is separate from the auto detect in the app!

To turn off auto start for run in the exercise app on your Fitbit, open the app, scroll to find run, then swipe to the settings menu and turn off auto start.  Then it will not be auto selected for you and will not appear on the top of your list!

If you have further issues I would recommend starting a new thread in order to get the best answers to your question.
