Food Database for U.S. not available

Today the Food Database has a message that it’s not available in the U.S.  This morning I added a custom food entry and now it’s the only thing I can do. Yes, I’ve done all the steps in previous posts (restarts, deleting app and reinstalling, etc). It’s very frustrating.

Hi everyone, thanks to those who have already tried some troubleshooting.

It looks like it's an ongoing issue and that has been already escalated, we'll provide you with a fix as soon as possible.

In the mean time, try to troubleshoot the issue by checking

  • FItbit app updates
  • Force stop the app and try mobile data instead of Wifi.

I'm getting super sick of these ongoing issues with my last two Fitbits.  Only had this model since July, and about ready to throw it out.  First I stopped getting the vibrations of my texts, now no HR data.  I can't tell you how many times I've restarted, deleted the app, unpaired and repaired my device with my Android.  I've had it!  Will NOT purchase other Fitbit!

Same here - I am in Canada and can’t do anything but add custom food. I tried everything too. Ugh!! So glad to hear it is more widespread - hopefully will be a fix soon.

Having the same issue. Can't search the food database. I'm new to Fitbit. How long do these outages usually last?

Today, suddenly, I put food into my search that normally pops up with many options now it only wants me to add custom food. It will not search existing food in the app. I have done several steps starting with refreshing the app page restarting the Fitbit itself, removing the Fitbit app from my phone and reinstalling it as well as shutting my phone down nothing has worked

Same here I’ve been uninstalling and re-installing and playing with settings. I’ve completely lost my food database and also my scanner feature that scans food from packages. I’m so frustrated

They had issues several years ago, but this one seems pretty wide spread. We will see.

It’s the same in the UK. I was able to input at 6pm then nothing by 8pm. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Same here! I installed reinstalled restarted many times and it is still not available this morning! So frustrating.  I created a custom food so I could at least finish my day yesterday.

@fivemeadows and others.  Both Android an iOS users seem to have this issue.  Fitbit has been made aware of this issue through feedback.

I am using iOS too.  It's out.  Will they fix it?  I will have to use another app if not.
