After researching online I just bought my husband an Inspire 3. Google had said it should work with ios15. My husband is on 15.8.3 however he has an iPhone 7 and that is the last iOS we can download. I tried to download the Fitbit app in the App Store and it says it requires iOS 16.
Is there anything we can do or is this new Fitbit just a piece of expensive trash now? He barely uses his phone so we’re not in the market to upgrade.
Is there an older version of the app we can download? I don’t care if it’s missing some features I just need to get the thing set up.
If I can’t get the app and I’m unable to return the Fitbit, would it make any sense to set it up for him using my newer phone, or is that just dumb? Very frustrated since I knew this might be a possibility and tried to research but it doesn’t mention needing iOS 16.

Hello @Kpow9 and welcome to the Community. The App Store doesn't let you download older app versions. I think you wound up in an unfortunate spot. The iOS 16 requirement is VERY new, ever since v 4.39 (announced Mar 25). It might have been 15 when you started looking. The Google Store has the correct information. Amazon doesn't.
If you use a Fitbit, too, then I think it is cumbersome for two people to share the same phone. You can only have one copy of the Fitbit app on a device. You each have to log out/log in/ sync/repeat to get your data.
If you own a compatible iPad, you can put the Fitbit app on an iPad. Even though your husband doesn't use his phone much, he should think about upgrading. The iPhone 7 is no longer receives mainstream support. It also doesn't support 5G. An iPhone 16 isn't necessary. An iPhone 14, still available, should work through 2029.

Argh. How frustrating for the timing. Thanks for the reply. I don’t use Fitbit so I could maybe set him up on my phone until he’s finally ready to upgrade his.
