How do I sync my Inspire 3?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

AGGHHH When I got it in Sept- I found I could not figure it out.. so like most people I threw it in a drawer. I decided to try it again. How do I make the date today instead Sept 3? How do I make the steps, heart rate, calendar, tine correct?

Hi, @OldLadyKickButt , in order to update everything on your Inspire 3 you will need to “sync” it with your phone or tablet.  That’s the process of transferring the information on the phone to the Fitbit itself, and it is done over Bluetooth.

It sounds like you managed to set it up initially if it is showing your information like date and time, etc, so that’s great.  What you need to do now if first make sure your Fitbit is well charged, and then go to the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet.  Next make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your phone/tablet.  Open the app, and if you aren’t already logged in, log in now using your email address and password you used to set it up in the first place (be sure to choose ‘log in’ and not ‘join Fitbit’). Hopefully you remember your password, but if not you can always select the forgot password option and get an email to reset it.

Make sure your Fitbit is close to your phone when you open your app and log in.  In most cases logging in will prompt a sync.  To check this on the opening, Today, screen on your app click on the person icon/photo top left.  That will take you to the “account’ screen where you will see how to change basic info (or just keep the defaults).  You will see your Inspire 3 listed as your device.  Click on the Inspire 3 and the next screen will show the sync status.  If it is not indicating that it is syncing, click on Sync Now.

Hopefully it will be syncing - which make take a few minutes as it has been several months since it has synced.  Once it has synced the time and date on your Fitbit will update, and you will be ready to go!

If you are having difficulty getting it to sync, you could try resetting your Fitbit.  On your Inspire 3 itself (not the app) swipe down on the clock face screen until you come to “settings” tap on that and then scroll up to find “restart”.  Tap on that and scroll up again to confirm the restart.

I won’t go in to all the other steps of what to do in case it won’t sync, because I don’t want to overwhelm you - hopefully it will work straight away - but please post again if you are having difficulties, letting us know what phone you use to sync your Fitbit and where you are having trouble.  There is always someone here to help!

Welcome to the forums!

Hi, @OldLadyKickButt it sounds like Support advised you to re-set up your Fitbit, which I did not advise in my response to you.  You won’t be able to find the settings menu now, as you have begun the set up process again and it is not yet completed.  If you do get it set up you will then be able to swipe down from the clock face to find the settings menu.

Hi, @OldLadyKickButt , I only said Inspire 3 because you posted in that forum.

It’s not a problem if it is an Inspire 2.  Don’t worry!  It sounds like it was previously set up, because you mentioned that the date showed Sept 3.  It would not have showed that if it hadn’t been set up before.

However, Customer Support seems to have advised you to start over with the set up process, and it seems the set up process is now not completing.  You got the 4 digit code, but it is not connecting.

So, I would suggest getting your phone or tablet near by to your Fitbit - not a laptop or computer, that won’t work! - and starting again.  Open your Fitbit app, click on the person icon/photo top left of the opening screen and that will take you to the screen you need for setting up (it’s the Account screen).  Scroll down to find “+ Set up a device”.  Choose Inspire 2 from the list and it should begin looking for it.  Hopefully it will find it and then show the four digits you need to type into the app.  Once it has the 4 digits it will begin searching…

As Support may have advised you, it can help to give your Fitbit a restart.  To restart your Inspire 2 you will need to plug it in and hold the button for at least 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo.  Once it has restarted the set up may work better.

I am so sorry you are having such trouble with it, but I promise that once it is working it’s a great little tool.  My 91 year old mother uses an Inspire 2 so it really can be user friendly, if you can only get it going.  Don’t give up!  Someone, or another call to Support, will get it going.

It has been such a hassle.

In first place over and over you guys tell me to have it charged and next to my phone. I do that over and over. I have hit synch so many timesI gave up.

I wore it without date to a fitness class in which my main goal was to compare the heart rate on the FB to the monitor I have . The FB gave me hrt rt as 43:24.. I I wanted to know blood pressure & heart rate in exercise. I know how much I sleep, drink water etc. I prefer my own knowledge of  my body over a machine which is so interconnected to laptop, phone connect login connect synch read a bunch o fstuff nonrelevant and waste time.

I am sorry.  I have very much tried to help you, but I cannot even tell from your posts if it is set up or not…. I do not understand what you mean by heart rate of 43:24.

No Fitbits will tell you your blood pressure at this stage.  The technology for that is not yet available.

I promise that if you can get it set up it is very easy to use.  My 91 year old mother uses an Inspire 2.  She’s an old lady kick butt too 😉!

Thanks.I have spent 2 hrs at least. For hrt rt the numbers show 43:25... then 43:26.. thats not heart rate-- it seems to be a timer.
I know you have tried a lot.I have an account on my laptop. The FB is charged completely.I have an account on an app.I went to the place designated to synch -- it would never synch.
As I mentioned another time at one time I was somehow locked out of the FB acct on my laptop.
I only wanted heart rate to compare with my heart monitor which I use at gymBlood pressure would be nice.
I do not care about other features. I get that many people love to see numbers and in a few cases I know people who spoke daily about their goals re steps etc. Not me.
Since it will not synch I think it can not be set up.I have recharged my phone to 100 FB to 100 turned phone and laptop on and off.It is funny really. For some people these are marvelous. Not for me.

Hi, @OldLadyKickButt , you can eliminate your laptop from the equation, because Fitbit no longer supports syncing via a laptop.  You can sync only via your phone/tablet.

So, if you are seeing a timer on your Inspire, then your Inspire 2 is definitely set up, so that’s progress!  I would expect your heart rate during exercise to be some number over 100.  It wouldn’t ever be expressed as a number like 43:25

Now let’s just start at the beginning and see if we can get you going.  What kind of phone do you use?
