Inaccurate distance and calories

My Inspire 3 records more than 1500 calories when there is no way I achieved that.  Doing the same walk on other days the calories is different along with the actual distance traveled. I am not impressed with this device at all.  Thoughts anyone?

Hi, @SunsetRunner, welcome to the community, I'm a little unclear about the calorie number you are quoting. There is often some confusion about calorie figures and the BMR (the calories you burn by just being alive). I can do no better than to offer you this article on the issue How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? - Fitbit Help Center 

To give you a feel for the numbers, in my case 71.5Kg x1.82M height I have a BMR of about 2,300 Cal and a 97-minute swim adds about 600 Cal so my daily budget is 2,900 Cal.
