Hi there, @MudPuppy8 and @mihmic. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thank you for sharing your comments and feedback about this update.
To better assist you with this, would you mind giving me more details of the issue? Did your tracker loose those steps only the day you performed the update? Is that the only data missing?
While I wait for your response, I'd recommend restarting your tracker as suggested here: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

after a long break from fitbit I got a new Inspire 3 this week. The old One devices were so reliable (and counted stairs before, dont know where that function went?). Sadly, within 4 days of returning to the Fitbit way of life my Inspire 3 lost 7000 steps after today's Firmware update. That never seemed to happen before.
Has Fitbit lost its way and the device are now unreliable and lose steps during updates regularly, is this normal? is there any solution that would Inspire my confidence in these new models, Manual input isnt a solution, I dont want to make up for fitbit update glitches with guesses on how many steps I actually. I think it was 7000, but I am not going at stepcounting...Iwas hoping Fitbit still was.
Please Help and Reaasure me if possible, I was so excited to be back bit all the fun is lost if you have to Manually input.
dissappointedly,
excuse my typos.... I hit post too early:
corrected:

the steps were there, then the update popped up, I hit update and the looked again 30 mins later and my step count had reduced by 7000. Almost certainly because of the update IMO.
I did restart the fitbit and my phone and checked the web dashboard and its gone. No stairs either despite what I read on the Website before purchasing. I assed the Inspire would have the same functionality as the One trackers, but unfortunately not.
I was a fitbit owner for many years and it never missed a Step. There is really no point for me if the device are not 100% reliable, it ruins all the Fun! The idea that it can remove steps during random updates is very disconcerting.
Yet to be convinced,
Michael

Oh, and it may or may not be related but my Wife (Luxe) invited me to the Canyon Loop Activity Challenge. It didnt work at all.
I walked 16000 steps that day and it stayed at 0 on the Activity. I didn't see a single Photo and I just left the challenge. I dont care about this so mucb because its a new feature, but thats 2 basic functions the device has failed to deliver within my first week back in many years.
How can Fitbit and the devices have gone Backwards? Is this just the quality of the product now and glitches are Expected?
If there is not a good fix, can you provide info on how I get a Refund?

@mihmic Thanks for letting me know that when performing the firmware update your Inspire 3 lost your steps for the day. This is not an expected behavior and I'm sorry this affected your Fitbit Challenges as well. Even though your missing steps can't be returned automatically, you can manually log them in the Fitbit app: How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?
If you restarted your Inspire 3, this should be working fine now. You can keep tracking your activities and doing your challenges as normal, I'd like to mention that only the steps recorded by your tracker itself or MobileTrack will be counted on Fitbit Challenges.

The firmware update really stuffed it up. Firstly when I'm running it gives incorrect distance and pace. Yes I'm using connected gps. The incredible thing is the data from fitbit is then sent through to Strava app which shows the correct distance and pace after. I'm not taking about a few hundred metres, today's 5k run only showed 2.84 on fitbit up this is DESPITE the map on the fitbit app traced the correct distance I covered. This is absurd! Also heart rate was way out , showing average of 125 bpm, I run at 4 minute kilometres, before the update it would always show average of 165 or so. I have tried all the usual, reinstalling the app, disconnecting repairing, granting permissons. Just to be clear this has only started happening after the update.

same here... was considering getting the Inspire 3 as a replacement due to the current Charge 5 issues after update. So I guess it's very much affecting other models, too.

@AndreiJ Welcome to the Fitbit Forums. Thanks for adding all those details in your post and for the steps you already tried with your Inspire 3. I haven't received similar reports from other users but thanks for confirming that you noticed this started happening after this update. Please restart your Inspire 3 and confirm your personal information (age, gender, weight and height) in the Fitbit app. Also update your stride length and track again your daily runs.
Take in count that when you track an activity with GPS, your device calculates your distance using GPS data rather than steps. If you begin moving before you get a GPS signal, your device calculates distance using your steps until GPS connects. For more information, see How do I use GPS on my Fitbit device?
@Monkeyisland Can you please clarify what issues you're facing with your Inspire 3? So I can help you out with this.
@rockfruit Thanks for contacting our Support Team and for sharing your comments here.
