Inspire 3 doesn’t recognize swimming

So yes, my problem is that my Inspire 3 doesn’t recognize when I’m swimming. It does recognize that I’m doing an exercise - but it’s always ”elliptical” never ”swimming” and with like six thousands steps. I can of course edit elliptical to swimming afterwards, but it does not reduce those steps… Is there anything I could do? I tried to look if I can start swimming exercise in the app before I go to the water, but it wasn’t possible, as there was only three options (walk, run, hike). Is there anything I could to fix this problem or do I just need to keep changing elliptical to swimming time after time? Thank you all so much in advance 🙂

@Faodail , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.

The options that you were looking in the Fitbit app (walking, hiking, and running) are for MobileRun. This feature is to record (as mentioned ) 1 of the previous activities with the phone's data. THi is in case you left your Fitbit at home and still want to record the activity.

To add, swimming to your shortcuts, please have a look at this:

There can be various reasons why your activities were not recorded or recognized.

For example, the activity is not fully recognized by your movement patterns.

You paused for more than 30 seconds during the first few minutes, so the tracker might "think" the exercise was over.

I recommend restarting your tracker and setting different start times for activities. For example, set it to 10 minutes for a walk, 15 for a run, 20 for an outdoor bike ride, etc., and/or ignoring the activities you don't use.

You can find the instructions for this here.
