My fitbit isn't charging and I've tried the suggestions online how to clean the terminals, still not charging.

Hi, @sheilahoyt , as you have already cleaned the contacts, that is unlikely to be the problem. In some cases a Fitbit that doesn’t seem to be charging actually is charging, but not showing that it is. In this case the trouble instead is that it has become unresponsive, not that it isn’t charging. I would recommend plugging your Fitbit in to charge, even if it doesn’t seem to be charging. Do make sure that your are using a plug and power source known to be working (test it using another device to confirm!).
Once you are certain your Fitbit is plugged in to a working power source give it about 2 hours charge and then try the restart procedure. Instructions are here. You will note that the instructions say to hold the buttons for 10 seconds. However if the device is unresponsive you may need to hold the button for significantly longer - up to 30 seconds or more. You also may need to try the restart a couple of times. But with luck it will come back to life following the restart.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. Welcome to the forums!
