Every 3rd or 4th run my inspire 3 does not accurately track the distance which then negates the pace that it shows. When I try to do higher tempo runs it has more issues. I’ve only owned it for a month.
I have tried resetting the app, the iPhone and the watch itself. I always make sure the app is open while running and the gps is connected prior to starting the run. I’m at a loss for what more to do

Try changing the stride length. I don't know how to do it on iPhone, but on Android it is:
Profile pic > Fitbit settings > Activity and Wellness > Exercise > Stride Length.
I assume it is similar on iPhone.
You can also use GPS feature, which uses your phone's GPS to track your distance. This is probably the best choice if you want it to be really accurate. If you run with GPS, your running stride length will automatically be updated.

Did you ever get this fixed?
I have used a Fitbit for over 4 years. I run on a trampoline and have consistently been getting 10,000 steps in my workouts. In the past month or so, I'm barely reaching 7,500.
I have done everything support has suggested. Nothing works. I am literally holding my phone with my dominate hand, watching the app as I run, with my Fitbit on my non-dominate hand. I have someone else watching and counting my footfalls. For every 10 steps, device is short changing me anything from 5-8 steps. A count of 100 registered 48 steps. I've even used another step counter at the same time and the numbers are way off.
This is a huge difference! I'm beyond frustrated. Was working perfectly, and on par with my previous Luxe, and without me altering anything, it's now a mess.
I just want my accurate count back.
