Inspire 3 is not tracking my sleep data accurately

Hi,

I got my new Inspire 3 and even paid for the Premium services. However, the sleeping data are absolutely incorrect and useless.

Problem is, if I wake up at 2am or 3am, it STOPS tracking my sleep, even if I continue to sleep until 9AM.

Sometimes it works though.

Support told me, that this is OK, because, I should not wake up during night, in order the tracker to work . Is this correct? I just can't believe that it'd be such a garbage product?

My non-premium account tracks sleep even if I waste up and use the washroom, as one continuous sleep, showing my awake period.  If I’m awake long enough like this morning, for an hour or mor, it gives me two separate sleep cycles.

Hello,
thanks for the feedback?!
i think the customer support representative was wrong then. I’ll try to contact them again, nevertheless, Inpsire 3 works really inconsistently

@rga22 My sleep data is usually recorded if I wake up and fall back asleep. I have my sleep setting set to Sensitive. I'm using iOS, but you can try to change the sleep sensitivity on Android by updating it via Fitbit.com. See below for more details:

@rga22 as not so clearly written in the article linked by @Heather-S the sensitively level applies only to devices without HR sensor. For your Inspire 3 this is irrelevant.

Hi, I am really well awake several times per night, between 5min and at least 50min, getting up, going back to bed, sometimes turning arround and sometimes just resting the eyes closed. My inspire 3 always record the sleep until the morning, I don’t have your issue. However it is completly lost, giving me 77 times "awake" for really short times, and telling me that I was asleep were I was not.

The issue is overall, the inspire/fitbit is doing bad at recording sleep stage, therefore might be better to stop recording when it is not sure (your case) that telling you Great, you got a nice 8h sleep time.. bull**ahem**

yes, agree, if it's a very unreliable device for sleeping, why do they even promote the premium, "advanced sleep analytics"? They are asking almost £8 /month for these unprecise data. It really is unusable, i'm shocked.

Mine is also very inconsistent. It tracked my sleep, with all of the sleep stage data, for about a month, then stopped. It would only record "time asleep" because "the tracker couldn't get a consistent heart rate reading," even though it seems capable of tracking my heart rate during the day, and I know that the watch isn't slipping around on my wrist at night. (I know, because it's always in the same place, no matter when I wake up.)

I had been able to get it to read sleep data again by doing a few restarts and logging out and back into my app AND (I'm just remembering this) clearing the app cache.

A couple of weeks ago, my fitbit stopped reporting sleep data again. I've tried the restarting and logging out trick several times, but I'd forgotten to clear the cache. I'm trying that now and will see if it works tonight. It's a frustrating problem, because you have to wait 24 hours to find out if your "fix" has worked or not.
I hope you can get yours to work again!

Thank you,
I have mine working but will see if it stays that way. It’s randomly turning off heart rate on the device.
Sleep won’t record with heart rate turned on.
No idea why mine changes status on the device. And even if heart rate shows up on the app, it may not be actually turned on with the device, so there’s that apparently.

It took a week of calls, and as you say 24 hours after each “fix” to determine the issue.

My Inspire 3 has always shown less sleep than I thought when I didn't get up at night, but recently it's giving me credit for 2 or 3 hours of sleep even when I've slept though the night and feel better than if I'd only had that little sleep.  All in all: Inspire 3 is way less helpful than Alta HR.
