Inspire 3 step counter really inaccurate?

I got an inspire 3 for Christmas and the step counter is really inaccurate. It goes up just barely moving or when I reach to grab things. Is this common or can I change settings to fix it?

Hi, @bakarudin , all wrist worn trackers will count false hand “steps” to some extent, but if you find that your Fitbit seems to be significantly over counting steps you can minimise this by wearing it on your non dominant wrist, but in your app make sure the wrist setting is “dominant”.  When it is set to dominant wrist the Fitbit will be less sensitive to hand movements.

If you are doing something that you know always gives you extra steps (knitting perhaps or practising the piano) it’s worth remembering that the Inspire 3 has a setting that you can change from “on wrist” to “on clip”.  You can buy a compatible clip at the Fitbit online shop, or you can just tuck it into your pocket.  When you put it back on your wrist be sure to change the setting back to “on wrist”, as heart rate detection is turned off when it is “on clip”.

I hope this helps. Welcome to the forums!

I am currently dis-satisfied with my new Fitbit Inspire 3. It is not counting my steps mostly if I wear my clip. This is my 3rd Fitbit and I never had to change the way I wear it for it to count correctly. I purchased a clip when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. I see where I can change from dominant to non-dominant but I am not seeing how to change it to clip. I am on my PC. Can you help me find the answer on how to change it to clip.

Thanks in advance
