Inspire 3 update doesn`t show up in the app

Hey everybody,

I got my new Fitbit Inspire 3 from the store. Running on firmware 188.58. According to the fitbit help site latest update must be Version 214.24.

But it does not show up in the app. Using my Inspire 3 for two weeks wearing it every single day.

I tried to do a soft reset, hard reset, delete all user data, disconnect form my phone, reconnect. Update just does not show up...

Any ideas how to get the update? In the older Fitbit app there was a help section where I could manually search for an update. But they removed it with all their fancy app updates 😄

@FitterThanEver   Generally, users get firmware updates in 24-48 hours after setting up a new device.  That firmware version hasn't been released to all users.  I wear a Sense 2 and it is getting a similar update.  I haven't received it yet.  This rollout is really slow and I'm starting to think that Fitbit paused the rollout.  I'm not an employee, so I can only guess.  I've seen a few posts where users say it isn't working as expected.  I think you should be patient.

That is not encouraging for me to hear, @LZeeW.

I updated the FW in my Inspire 3 a couple of weeks ago and aside from the problem of having to go through the download process three times to get it to finally complete, 214.24 appears to be working okay.

However, I only use the basic heart rate, health metrics, step count, zone minute, cardio load and sleep functions, so maybe the rollout was paused because of the installation difficulties or issues with the logging functions.

@Bill_209   Some users are writing that the status indicators aren't working right.  They are getting Bluetooth disconnected icon when they are connected.

That I can live with, @LZeeW.  It's not worth performing a Factory Reset to eventually get back to 210.26 again, unless the newer firmware version that eventually gets released can't be updated from 214.24.

If Google isn't even updating the Factory 188.58 firmware to the latest (before the broken 214.24 FW) 210.26 firmware version anymore, then they must have really done something bad to break the firmware upgrade process again this time.

I got a notice that a firmware update was available.  After or during the update, I got a message that said make a more secure BT connection so I "forgot" the tracker and it took several minutes to find it again even though the tracker and my phone were only 12" apart.  Eventually it paired with my phone again and the update is complete.  My recent exercise data is intact.  I don't have any historical data stored.  Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones.

What was broken on the 214.24 release?

I had a similar experience when downloading 214.24, @lmacmil.  It took 3 times to complete the download and then it took quite some time to 'improve' my Bluetooth experience

The firmware has been running without issue for me so far, but the new clockface notifications are reportedly not working properly, so I just ignore those.

I wouldn't recommend trying to perform a Factory Reset to get rid of 214.24 @lmacmil, because it appears that Google isn't updating devices that are running the Factory 188.58 firmware version again.

Google just can't seem to get their act together with Fitness Tracking devices, which is a bit concerning.

I wasn't planning to revert to 210.26 which my Inspire 3 was running before today's update.  So far I haven't seen any issues with 214.24.

I got one delivered and activated on the 5th and mine has 179.13 on it. I too have tried everything under the sun to try and resolve this and get it to update and my roommate also got an Inspire 3 less than a week before I did  He did get an update to 214.24 and I have received zilch.

I have been dealing with whatever support you can contract through the support.google.com pages and the support seems clueless about whats wrong and have offered to RMA it which is annoying. Especially since they are now being cagey about if they know about any issues with their update process or the firmware itself. It just seems really odd to me I can't even get an update to any version in between.
