Hi there, @ltmurphyc. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire 3 is still not syncing properly. I understand how annoying this can be, we're here to help you!

As a first approach, I suggest following the troubleshooting steps provided in this help article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

If the issue persists, please try the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Inspire 3 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

@Bill_209 Thanks for trying to help!

I've been having trouble syncing since the last update. Really annoying. I have to turn on cell data on my phone and even then it takes several attempts.

Seems like with every Fitbit if it's not one annoying thing it's another. You'd think by the 3rd one they'd get it right.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not unpairing everything on my Bluetooth. I had to do to the dealer to get my phone paired with my car and I'm not unpairing it.

Try making a product that doesn't constantly glitch and require us to jump through all of these hoops and then still is glitchy.

Try just restarting your Inspire 3 device first.  That resolved the sync issue for me when the app updated from V4.16 to V4.17.

If that doesn't work, then doing this should:

  • Uninstall the app
  • Use phone settings to unpair the Inspire 3 from your phone
  • Restart your Inspire 3 device
  • Confirm that an Inspire 3 device shows up on your phone as an available device for BT pairing
  • Restart your phone
  • Reinstall the app
  • Complete the setup process

I had this issue as well. IF you are using the same phone as before but different email address, you need to go into the setting of your phone and delete data. Once that is done retry to sync your Inspire 3.

To delete data from your FITBIT Inspire 3,

  1. On your Inspire 3, open the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down to Clear User Data.
  3. When prompted, press and hold the screen for 3 seconds and release.
  4. Wait untilyour tracker vibrates and the clock screen appears. That indicates that your previous data has been erased.

This is the only thing that worked for me - Clearing User Data.  Then it pairs straight away!
