My new inspire 3 records my vigorous walks as elliptical. This is frustrating bc I don't have record of miles or accurate time in heartrate zones. Can this be corrected?

Hi, @GLE33 , what type of exercise it detects should not have an effect on HR readings. If you feel that your heartrate readings are not accurate then you may need to wear your Fitbit a little higher on your wrist and a little tighter during exercise.
If you never do elliptical then it will help if you set that exercise to be “ignored” and then it won’t ever detect your walks as elliptical! You can do this in your app. From the opening, Today, screen click on the gear icon top right and on the next screen scroll down to “Activity” and then find “Activity detection”. Select “elliptical” and then toggle the “track automatically” button to “off”. Be sure to sync your Fitbit whenever you make any changes in your app so that the changes are reflected on your device.
You may also need to find elliptical workout on the exercise app on the device itself and make sure that “auto start” is disabled.
The automatic detection of exercise works pretty well, but for some people can be less accurate. For very best results I always recommend starting the exercise app on your Fitbit, or enabling “auto start” for the exercises you do most often. Using the exercise app on the Fitbit itself will give you the most detailed information about your activity.
