I just flew to Australia and on my first day I got 16k steps. I then realized my watch wasn’t synced with the app, so when I synced, all my activity from today got erased (Australia is a day ahead). Is there a way to manually log my steps? I really like to keep track. I manually logged a seven mile walk but it’s still showing up as 0 steps.

Hi, @Gjulie , your Fitbit can get confused when time zone changes are so great that they go over midnight, and it is especially confusing if you cross an international date line!
When time zone changes disrupt your step logs you can log your activities manually instead. I noticed some issues creating a manual log a few weeks ago, but I have just tested the procedure tonight and can confirm that it is working, at least for me.
The steps for creating a manual log can be found in this help article . I would recommend making sure that your app is fully up to date and then following the instructions in the help article, creating the manual log as described there. Please let us know if this is successful.
If it continues to show zero steps, please let us know whether you are using Android or iOS for your Fitbit app, and, if possible, where you are seeing any error.
Moving forward, I find it works best if I change my timezone on the Fitbit before it passes midnight. In practice this means that I usually update my timezone before I get on the airplane (I usually do it when I am at the airport, having a nice glass of wine near my departure gate…). It also means that while I fly, and as I arrive, I can already glance at my wrist and see the time at my destination. I feel that already seeing the time helps me adjust to the new time zone. It does mean that my Fitbit app thinks I have had a crazy long day, but it just about copes and I feel I get the best representation of my activity - those were the hours I was active and awake, whatever the clock said…
If you need any help in how to force a time zone change on your Fitbit let me know.
I hope this helps. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
