I would be nice, if there was someway to mark a day as a 'rest day' so it does not mess up any of your 'weekly average' scores. Muscles need a day of rest every now and then.

Hi, @TheNeilHaley, welcome, you can put forward feature suggestions at Fitbit Community If you use the search bar you will see a 2018 proposal similar to yours. If you think it merits your vote you could make your voice heard there alternatively put forward your own detailed proposal.
I hope this helps.
Cheers

I fully understand what you are saying. How I am dealing with it is less intense activity and more consistent activity.
my personal pattern is to go hard and then rest too much. Not saying that’s yours.
I noticed on days where my activity is very high I then go low activity a couple days after. The next day it’s still good, but 2-4 days later I’ve rested allot and been too sedentary.
essential a extreme behavior from youth I could handle but as a 48 year old, nope.
so my remedy is lighter and easier and being Mobil every day. That ment cutting my walk shorter today because yesterday I was ultra active.
im looking for good performance as consistently as possible for health actuality and happiness perception.
hope this might be supportive / helpful to you. The super fit people i follow do a similar routine so they are always active (essentially), but intensity then becomes the variable.
Hence today reduced activity so I can be more active tomorrow. Take care -
