Need to display distance as a default while running

ANSWERED

I've seen this posted about a few times but for some reason the threads are all locked. I don't know who at Fitbit thought it would be a good decision to display the time and pace as the default while running but it sure as hell wasn't a runner. I need to see time elapsed and distance while I'm running. I know some people like average pace and/or current pace, but who would care about the time while running? At the very least they should have made this customizable. I'm very frustrated by this and honestly pretty confused about why they would make this decision.

@LukeScholtes   I moved your post to the Inspire 3 forum, a better fit for your issue.  Unfortunately, users can't customize the Exercise app top, middle, and bottom stats on the Inspire 3.  I also understand your frustration about the default stats in the Run shortcut.  As I remember, the default top and bottom stats were distance and elapsed time until a firmware update changed things.  Like you, I don't know who thought this was a good idea.  I looked at your public profile and can see that you took a good step -- giving feedback in the Product Feedback forum.  You can also send feedback directly through the Fitbit app.  Tap on your profile picture, the Send feedback.  I give feedback all the time this way and I don't mince words.

Things changed with the Exercise app on the device with that same update.  All the shortcuts are on the device.  As you use shortcuts, your list gets separated into Recents and everything else.  I think the Inspire 3 only shows the last three Recents.  Changing the Exercise shortcuts in the app doesn't do anything anymore.

I'm not sure what you mean about unwanted notifications.

@LukeScholtes   What model do you wear?  Users can customize the screen on some, but not all models.

I'm also having some annoying issues with the Fitbit syncing to the settings I put in the app. It sends me notifications for things I've switched off, and only displays three of the six exercises I selected.

@LukeScholtes which Fitbit device are you using? They are all different and it's impossible to answer your questions without knowing which device you have.

I had sent this message previously but I just looked at the thread and apparently it didn't register. I'm using an Inspire 3.

Hi, @LukeScholtes , on the Inspire 3 in the exercise app you can tap to scroll through which stat is the main stat (the middle one).  If you tap until you come to distance it will continue to show that stat until you tap again.  Therefore you will be able to see distance throughout your run.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. This is a good workaround. And I suppose I can learn to live with only having my three most recent exercises appearing at the top of the list. Still haven't figured out why I keep getting notifications even though I've turned them off and now it's stopped showing the time automatically when I turn my wrist.

I was so happy with my Inspire HR, but I'd had it for years and it needed replacing. I figured the Inspire 3 would be a bit of an upgrade but my experience so far with it has been a big step backwards.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. Appreciate it!

@LukeScholtes if the screen is not waking up as expected, it is worth checking that that setting has not accidentally been turned off (this occasionally happens to me for not apparent reason).  From the clock face on the Inspire 3 swipe down and make sure that Auto wake is set to ON.

Yep. That was the problem. I must have turned if off accidentally. Thanks!
