Probably not gonna transition to Google

I have used Fitbit Charges for about 10 years and have loved it. We all know the story on Google buying Fitbit and how it has changed Fitbit experience for all of us.

I am now getting the final warning emails from Google to either transition to Google or lose Fitbit entirely. It sounds like they don't just want me to just log in with a gmail account but that I have to transition to a google account where ALL my apps an devices are shared and synched with Google. Their latest email was very specific in that regard although I dont really understand the nuances.

Well, I have been slowly degoogling myself for years. I just don't like the idea of one company having so much of my personal data.

So my question is, I have bought a Galaxy watch and still us my Fitbit Charge (one on each wrist LOL). What is the best way for me to manage this transition? To protect my privacy, partition my life a little and either keep Fitbit but in a partitioned manner with gmail address or save all my Fitbit data and move on to Galaxy and others?

Any lessons learned would be appreciated. I am obviously not tech savvy so please use plain speak. Thanks

Personally, I am tempted to start regularly (say weekly) exporting my data out of Fitbit.  I do plan on switching to another fitness tracker, seeing as my Inspire 3 is becoming less and less reliable with each firmware/patch being released by Google.

Hi @gonepno1.  You might find the help you need from this page in the Samsung Community.  It doesn't seem to be really straightforward.  You might need to do more searching or wait for more responses.

I'm not clear what you mean about keeping Fitbit in a partitioned manner with a gmail address.  If you don't migrate to a Google account by the 2026 date, your Fitbit account will be deleted.
