What happened? Up until today, if I fell asleep at 9 PM and woke up at 9 AM - that was shown as twelve hours. Last night I woke up at 11 and noticed the hour or so I was asleep was added to the previous night. And this morning I see that only sleep from midnight was tracked. Sleep is a huge metric for me. Help.

Sleep is always credited to the day you wake up. If you woke up at 11 PM, Fitbit credits that to that day, looking just like a late evening nap, I suppose unless you get back to sleep quickly enough, probably without bothering to check your sleep score then. If it's worth the trouble to you, you could edit it to make it the way you want. First delete the hour sleep last night; then edit today's sleep to have started last night.

Well first - thank you very much! Second - ugh. I don't know how I didn't see that before and yeah -- not loving it. The app actually has a place to set bedtime and wake time and I thought it was tracking the sleep activity during those hours. I can't tell you how long I've been using this and didn't realize it wasn't. (Probably talks to how often I fall asleep past midnight.) Chalk up another reason I think this might not be the tool for me. 😞

Where you set your goal bedtime and wake time doesn't actually affect how your sleep is measured. There's just some graph that shows how your actual sleep times compare to what your goal times are, to let you see how you are doing compared to what you had planned, and see how consistent your sleep times are.
You might have been okay if you had woken at 11 and just laid quietly, and tried to get right back to sleep. I don't know how much time awake or movement it takes for Fitbit to break it up into segments. Sometimes people have trouble when they get up at night to go to bathroom, and that causes sleep to get broken into separate segments, though I've noticed recently that seems to happen less frequently for me.

Thank you for that extra info! Maybe that's what happened. I'll have to see what happens tonight. Appreciate the response!
