So, if my Fitbit only assumes, I’m asleep, after I have not moved much for an hour, does that mean it shortens my sleep time by an hour? For example, last night I fell asleep before 1030 but my Inspire3 didn’t show that I had gone to sleep until 1118. So does that happen every night?

A warm welcome to the forums @Lezliej

Thank you for sharing the inquiry regarding sleep.

No, it doesn't mean that your device will shorten your actual hours of sleep.

Fitbit calculates your Light Sleep and your Deep Sleep. It means that there are several sleep cycles that las on average 90 minutes. Fitbit will take count of all of these cycles. I'd recommend you take a look in this article that explains better than me what Sleep stages are.

Except for many of us, it’s no longer doing any of that!! Please read all of the sleep related posts, and fix this! It worked prior to the update.

Agree %! Since the update my sleep tracking has become totally unreliable. Last night again it recorded for an hour or so and after I woke up and drank some water, no more sleep! Have had 3 fitbits and have never had a problem until this ridiculous downgrade of an update. So frustrating!

100%, that should read! Last 8 nights only 2 sleeps have recorded properly. The last 2 nights nothing at all!

Same here 🙄  sleep not recording properly which has been my main focus for use. I purchased an inspire 3 last week as I thought the problem was my inspire 2. I might as well return it as it works no better.

The same thing happenstance me but wose. Last night I went to bed at 9.30 but sleep wasn't tracked until 1.13

I’ve been having the same issues the last week or so. If I get up to go to the washroom and fall right back to sleep it doesn’t record after the washroom time. It always did before. Is there going to be a fix for this?

I have exactly the same issue.
