Steps gone missing

Has anyone had issues with steps going missing on the app today? I am doing a  challenge this month & been tracking on my own tracker. Today on the app every day since the 1st has lost around 200 to 300 steps from what it was saying yesterday?

Yes, I had ~75k steps this week and now it shows ~ 500 steps.  I also checked my yearly stats and they are incorrect.

Yes.  It seems to have gone all the way back to May and changed my step data.  How do we get this back?????

Best Answer

Yes!!! I came here to post this very same question. Last night when I synced is when I noticed. It said I went 5 miles but only took 60 steps. Hopefully Google gets this figured out. Glad to hear it’s not just me! I noticed it changed several months of data for me too. Very odd!

I’ve had this start over the past couple of days. Everything was going fine until Thursday - I noticed around 9k steps had been wiped off from Monday (Tuesday - Thursday were fine). This morning 7k steps have been wiped off yesterday.

I also noticed that drinks data is buggy, it’s doubling some drinks I’ve added but a few days after they’ve been logged.

I hope they find a fix. I tried restarting and logging out of my account - sadly didn’t fix the issue.
I chatted with Fitbit support (at least I think it was support), wanted $49.99 to fix the issue.  I said, no thank you!

Lost all of my steps going back 3 months.  Second time it’s happened.  There’s got to be a fix to capture back all of these steps - they’re stored in the Fitbit mothership memory I would hope.  Is it the device or the software?  Had Fitbits for years.  Once I started using Google as my log in, I’ve had issues.

Same!! I noticed ever since Google acquired them it’s been going downhill which is a shame! Hoping they figure out a fix!

Yes. Lost 2000 steps from yesterday. My data from the last few months is all inaccurate and does not match my previous weekly reports

I have Versa 4 but same issue.  This morning my July steps completely changed, like the entire month was replaced by someone else's month, and it lost more than 100,000 steps.  Very frustrated with Fitbit/Google at the moment.   Have had Fitbits since 2014.

From the sounds of it (so many have the same issue), seems like Fitbit/Google doesn’t care to figure out a fix.  I’ve had Fitbits for years.  I use the historical info to share with my doctors.   Might have to figure out another brand, since this is a reoccurring problem for many of us with no fix in sight.

My data is completely wonky as well….everything disappearing. Has anyone experienced this and had it resolved? I want my steps back!!

Exactly same - no exercise recorded in January , June all wrong , last years daily average wrong too.

My steps from yesterday are now gone, as well as all historical data going back to sometime in June.  I was on a chat with them last night.  They tried to resolve but couldn’t so they assigned it a case number and said they would follow up.  We’ll see but others have done the same with no success.

I called support and they are aware of the issue with the app.  Several complaints reported, so hope they fix soon.

Have experienced same thing since Google took over.  Was frustrated to lose the dashboard, now app becomes less reliable.  Spent quite a bit of time on a chat yesterday with support without resolution - but was told it was being escalated.  Hoping for fix soon - think it is the site, not the device... hope this is not proven wrong.
