Sync issue and constant error message on Inspire 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This is my 3rd fitbit so am used to how they work and sync and how to troubleshoot,

A month ago, I upgraded to a new inspire 3 and as it happens a new phone a week later.  Set up all ok and starting using on new phone (old phone is not in use so no conflict there)  a few times had to manually sync.  Even when it has synced error message on app says "to sync reliably, let Fitbit link to your inspire 3"

Then a few days ago no manual sync - so did the normally of stop bluetooth, unpair, reinstall app and 50% of time it worked - others days it needing doing a few times before syncing would work.

Somedays it works without manual and I get excited but then it fails again.

Because it fails to sync then activites are not been uploaded to strava or reminders are not been sent.

It also just seems to lose the approval to share with strava so had to reenter that.  It is getting so bad I will have to resort to recording in strava and only use fitbit for steps.

FYI I am not using google logon still on fitbit

Is anyone else having the same or similar problem as I am getting very disenhearted.

Hi @Wtspg121

I don't use Strava so I can't speak to that, but I manually sync the App (twice) to my Inspire 3 every morning because that seems to help ensure that Sleep stages are logged and reported properly.

I mention that only because my Inspire 3 has always managed to reliably sync every morning for months, but I've been getting sync errors every morning for the last several weeks (possibly due to the 4.36 App update) and the latest 4.37 App update is doing the same thing.  However, in my case, all I have to do is close and reopen the App once or twice to get the sync process to work properly again.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to give this info.

It does seem to come and go whether it works or not.

Let's hope Fitbit fix something soon

Same issue here.

The sync issues were fixed end of 2024 and it worked great for a few months, then it broke again after an app update sometime in January 2025. It still isn't fixed.

My sync issues ceased after upgrading the Inspire 3 to the latest 214.24 firmware version  so, if you haven't upgraded your device to the latest firmware version yet, that would be worth trying.

I'm having the same syncing issues.  In the last week, the app says "Lost Bluetooth Pairing" 3 times.  All these problems started happening when I upgraded the app software.  Sometimes it automatically reconnects on its own, other times I have to wait a day or two.  But in that time inbetween syncing, all of my data is lost.  So frustrating....
