This past week my zone mins are outrageously high! I did a walk and laundry and 182 arm! Then last

Fitbit zone mins and steps are so inaccurate I’m considering it broken. A 2 mile walk and laundry does not equal 182 arm. I was anxious so does my heart rate now count as zone minutes?  Also, went to check steps at bedtime and vmcompared today to all week and every day changed to the same number of steps. I don’t trust the info anymore. Google ruined Fitbit!

Hi, @Pathk54 Active Zone Minutes (AZM) are based on heart rate so if you were anxious it is possible that your heart rate was higher than usual and therefore you were awarded an unusually high number of AZM.  You can see a graph of your heart rate throughout the day by clicking on the heart tile on the opening screen of your app and then clicking on any individual day.  That will probably help you identify when the AZM were awarded.

Here is an excerpt from the help article which explains this :  “Earn Active Zone Minutes for time spent in the moderate (fat burn), vigorous (cardio), or peak heart-rate zones. To help you maximize your time, you earn 2 Active Zone Minutes for each minute you’re in the vigorous or peak zones. Heart-rate zones are personalized based on your fitness level and age.”  Note that in the cardio or peak zones you get double AZM (two AZM awarded for every one minute in the zone) - so they can quickly add up!  You can read the full article here which explains how AZM are awarded.

Note that Active Zone Minutes have replaced Active Minutes, which were an earlier metric used in older Fitbits and based on how fast you were accumulating steps.

I am a little confused by your Fitbit recording exactly the same number of steps for every day.  It might be worth making a separate post to ask that specific question as someone may have an answer for you (I don’t!).  I remember seeing one other person reporting something similar but I am not sure if there was ever a resolution to that question.

Yep anxiety can cause zone minutes. I had a horrible job I didn't like and caused huge anxiety and my zone minutes skyrocketed on the days when I was at work. One day at work was the equivalent to the all the others days put together with zone minutes.

Yes, ok.. that makes sense! Thanks so much for responding!!  It helps.
the steps glitch is a tech issue. I really  appreciate you taking the time to reply.
