Where is best place to manually enter data?

I have the Fitbit app installed on my computer, and it is also installed on my iPhone. (I am currently typing this from the computer app .... mainly because I can SEE it here! LOL).  A bit earlier I FINALLY discovered how to add a new activity in my exercises log, although I realize that in all likelihood I will have to enter the data manually. I am assuming that, even though the category was created on the computer, the new category will sync and show up on my iPhone app. Is there any difference/preference (for the app) as to WHICH device I enter the data on (computer vs iPhone)? If so, I would appreciate knowing this ... and also the "WHY" behind it. Am pretty much a computer fuzzy-minded senior citizen here when it comes to computers, but I DO try to learn! Thanks much!   karmamido

PS... Perhaps I should also mention that this is for a Fitbit Inspire 3. My computer is a PC running Windows 10, and I have an iPhoneX.

Hi, @karmamido , in most cases you can enter data using your computer on the web based Fitbit dashboard (found at www.fitbit.com  - and there is also a link to your dashboard at the top of every page when you are logged in here in the Community), or you can use the app for the same purpose, with very few exceptions.  Adding a custom exercise category is one of the exceptions, but once you have added it on the web based dashboard it should then be available to you for logging in the app.
