Steps accuracy on treadmill

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just took a 1.2 mile walk on my treadmill and my Inspire HR recorded 300 steps.  On my previous Alta that would have recorded 1200 or so steps - doesn't seem right.  It didn't record any activity either.  I have only had this FItbit for a couple of day and still trying to figure everything out.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi @kjtown, welcome to the Community Forums! Sorry for the delay in responding your post.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared. Let me share with you that Fitbit trackers can potentially miss steps you're walking on a treadmill desk at a very low speed. We've determined that Fitbit devices will provide greatest accuracy if the user is wearing it clipped on their mid-section and walking at least 2 mph.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

I will consider the clip as an option but I am already walking well over 2
mph.

The treadmill is not registering in activity either.
