InspireHR (new for Christmas) SOMETIMES (50-50) tracks walks around a variable elevation trail for 2 miles as "elliptical" instead of "walk" - why? how do I fix?
App is on iPhone, mac air is reporting the elliptical.
Thanks! Rod

Tap the exercise tile.
Tap the gear in top right
Set unwanted auto detected exercises to ignore.

I think your depending on the tracker to figure out what you are doing.
This requires your arms to move in a natural way, often not possible when hiking.
Have you thought about using the manual multi sport mode of walk or hike? This also can produce a map of you have your phone with you.
Why is it happening, it has to do with your arm movements.

Thanks Rich. I decided to just ignore it 'cause I know I'm walking not doing elliptical. I do appreciate your willingness to help the old guy

Telling the watch to ignore any type of exercise that you do not do will make the watch screens more responsive since these settings control some of the background processing.

I've had my Inspire HR for 2 days, had a One for years. Both days, dashboard shows I spent ~30 minutes on elliptical, but I was walking on an even/flat surface (indoor track). I think deleting the exercise would take away all those steps, which I obviously don't want to do. How can an elliptical be mistaken for a flat track?

I'm fairly technically savvy, but I don't get these instructions. There is no "exercise tile" and don't see "auto detected exercises" anywhere.

@SunsetRunner tap on the exercise tile.
TaI the setting cog
Adjust your settings.
As for why a walk gets mis labeld, we would need to see more on your walk.

I want to choose an elliptical with IFIT integration, budget about $ 600, which one should I choose? I was really confused after seeing this list https://www.bestforlives.com/best-elliptical-under-1000/
