My Ionic was updated yesterday (I think my One was also). I have been unable to find a changelog. Does Fitbit provide change logs with updates?

@jrobbins, are you sure your Ionic was updated? What version of firmware are you running.
My Ionic is running 27.25.16.7, a version which I believe I have been running for several weeks; when I tell Fitbit Connect to perform an update it returns the message, "Your Fitbit tracker is already up to date!"
Edit: I just confirmed 27.25.16.7 went out in late September. Could it be you get a new version of your phone app and not a new firmware update?

Hmmm - the app (on Android 8.0) actually said there was a firmware update for my Ionic. The app showed my phone connecting to my Ionic and then said it would take up to 10 minutes to update. During this time my Ionic was pulsing the Fitbit logo and it did this for 30 minutes maybe?
My Ionic is on 27.25.16.7 and I have had it for a week or so now, but I did not pay attention to what was on it before last night.

The firmware has not been recently updated, the app has.

Unless you are on the dev cycle, in which case I have no idea.

See previous post - it was not just the app. The app pushed something to my Ionic which then spent 30 minutes or so on the Fitbit logo.
I am not on the dev cycle that I know of - I have not signed up for anything.

27.25.16.7 is weeks old. Nothing was pushed out to hardware recently (again not sure about dev path). Of course it may be new for you.
There is nothing else that can be pushed other than the Fitbit app, the firmware and maybe music files for you to listen to.

Ionic and my phone just stopped syncing! Tried removing ionic from the app and trying to search. At first it was showing a pairing number. Now it doesn't even find the ionic. Just got a Google Pixel 2 XL. The ionic was syncing initially but has fully stopped. I've also restarted the ionic mutiple times and removed the ionic from my Bluetooth devices. Any help out there?

Did it reset notification settings in the Fitbit app? It often plays with all days sync and always connected, they should be off.
Also disconnect any pairing. Then reboot phone and watch and force a sync

Sorry, can you clarify your question about resetting notifications? Did what reset it? And what plays with all day sync and always connected? What are the purpose of those two settings if the only way the Ionic is to work is if they are both off? Don't we want the ionic to be able to all day sync and always be connected??
Also, was able to get the phone and ionic paired finally. Instead of just rebooting the ionic by holding the left button and right power button, I had to actually shutdown the phone by going in settings -> about -> shutdown. I also reboot my phone as well. After getting both devices on I was able to successfully pair them. I really hope that I don't have to keep doing this reboot dance every time to ensure that the Ionic is working. It is quite an annoyance.
Thank you for your assistance FitAlexS

Yup that's right you want it off. Try it, sync manually, it will work at lot better. And check your notification settings in the Fitbit app. Yes notifications should work perfectly fine afterward and your battery will thank you.
