Just thought I'd post this PSA for any battery misers like me looking to max out their battery life. I'm coming from an analog watch, so even the idea of charging a watch every 3-4 days tested the limits of what I found tolerable.
I quickly found that my Ionic was lighting up at times when I wasn't looking at it and didn't always wake when I did. So, I thought I'd see how my battery life would be impacted by setting the screen wake to settings to Manual and 10 second timeout (hold the left button for a couple of seconds until a separate menu pops up and swipe left).
Well, I'm now closing in on 24h and I'm only down from 100% to 91%. In that time, I've logged 2, 30-minute cycling commutes (no GPS) and about 15k steps, but I also don't use it for notifications. The bad news is that I now always need my other hand free to hit a menu button to check my time/stats, but since the wake function only worked for me about half the time whenever I would check it before anyway, I'm quickly getting used to hitting the menu button to check it.
IMHO, this is a game-changer, so I thought I'd pass this along for any other reluctant smart/fitness watch wearers like me.
