None of the clock faces I have tried will read in 12 hour format. They all read in 24 hour format. I have changed settings to 12 hour clock.

On the computer. Click on the gear. Chose settings. Scroll down until You see clock display time. Use the drop down to select.

It needs to sync before it takes place

Manual is a good read and can help you underrated your device

@WendyB  Oh my! Suggesting that someone read the manual in this day and age, what an outrageous idea.  Isn't that information supposed to be beamed directly into the brain upon opening the box and placing the device on ones wrist for the first time.  Why are you promoting the stone-age method of information assimilation. 🙂

Nope!  I have tried over and over again ... change-submit-sync - it refuses to switch to 12-hour.  I've tried different watch faces, same result.

Try changing it via the website dashboard, that should override your local phone or PC settings when next it syncs.

That is odd it should be easy to change from 12/24 hour mine is set to 24 hour and works fine. perhaps contact Fitbit Support and see if they can come up with a solution.

My only other suggestion would be to remove the watch from your account and set it up again as a new device and see if that does anything.
