My screen after updating will not turn on. The backlight is clearly on when resetting holding the buttons and I can see the phone is trying to reset. Doesn’t appear to be tracking steps based on sync with phone. Tried new watch face in case that was the issue. Any have this issue and resolved?

As a follow up - Fitbit has confirmed that my watch is bricked and sending a new one due to the update after being on the phone with them for about an hour.

A couple of things are confusing me @SunsetRunner

The ionic does not have a back light,

I'm not sure what the phone is trying to reset, are you trying to set up the ionic as a replacement device?

How long ago does the app say that the last sync was? Has it synced since updating the tracker?

The restart procedure takes a very long time. diesdtge Fitbit logo ever appear?

Have you tried charging the Ionic since the update?

Sorry for all the questions.

No worries. Questions are good. I have had my watch since I preordered before it came out; so have had it for a while.

I’m describing how the screen is lighting up; which looks like a backlight in a normal watch (I.e. you can tell the screen is lit but there is nothing there). Upon restarting, I see the light I mention go black and then come back on after holding for 10-15 seconds; but no logo reappears as would on a normal reset. I updated the tracker yesterday and when it quit working let it charge overnight.

The phone will also vibrate and appears it communicate once with my phone in current state but has since not been found. It reflects that the battery is full from that sync.

So I feel as though I’ve done what I have when I’ve had other issues without it working this time. The black screen not working on reset is the most concerning.

As an even more recent update.  Hopefully your product never has issues as I sent my watch in on March 22nd and still have not received my warranty device yet (which they refer to as an Ionic Pebble).  So the process takes over two weeks.  It was suppose to be delivered Friday according to the confirmation and now keeps getting pushed back.  My wife had her iPhone get broken and had a new on via mail the next day and I had issues with a Microsoft laptop and had it within two days; so Fitbit has some serious work to do on their customer service side. Extremely disappointing experience where I think this will have to be my last device by these guys.

I have to agree here .

I bought a car booster pack that did not charge correctly.

Sent a copy of the receipt to the company .

Next day fed ex was at my door handing me a new unit and picking up the defective unit, I did not even have to package it up.

Microsoft put a hold on my credit card for the amount and gave me a 2-3 week window to send back which was no problem and then never charged.  Just thinking through the process stops from alienating the customer base.
