Active minutes and GPS not working properly

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have notice that my active minutes is extremely incorrect. I was sitting at my desk for most of today yet my ionic tells you different. Please see photo attached.

I also  have issues with the gps tracker not working and therefore results in inaccurate exercise tracking. Which is the whole reason I have the ionic.

I am finding this watch quite useless at the moment.

Hi there @MonBrima

Thanks for the details shared in your post and for providing us a picture about the difficulties that you are experiencing with your active minutes. If you haven’t already done so, I suggest checking your account settings to confirm your personal details to ensure your daily stats are being tracked accurately. For more information on how your Fitbit device calculates active minutes, see this help article. In addition to this let's try performing a restart on your Fitbit Ionic as described here.

Regarding the GPS issues, please check out this help article, which explains how the GPS feature works on your Fitbit device and it also contains some troubleshooting steps. The article may contain steps that you already tried but you can skip them and proceed with the rest.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help however,

I tried restarting my ionic and it hasn’t made a difference to the zone minutes.

As far as gps goes. I already do everything listed on the help sheet and the gps still does not work properly.

@MonBrima Thanks for your reply.

I appreciate for trying the suggested instructions. Note that you will earn Active Zone Minutes for time spent in the fat burn, cardio, or peak heart-rate zones, so I'd recommend checking the heart rate readings on your Fitbit device. Several factors can affect heart rate, including air temperature, stress level, alcohol or caffeine intake, immune response to illness, and medication use. For more information see, How do I track heart rate with my Fitbit device?

In addition to this, I suggest refreshing the connecting between your Fitbit Ionic and your phone:

  • Open the Fitbit app and tap the today tab → Tap your profile picture
  • Tap Set Up a Device
  • Choose your device and follow the on-screen instructions to continue.

Catch you later.

Again I have tried everything you have suggested. Nothing has changed. I can also say that non of those things that effect heart rate are happening to me. Especially when I am sleeping or at work.

i am extremely unhappy with this watch. This watch was a replacement for a previous ionic that malfunctioned.

I would not recommend this brand to anyone. Terrible disappointed as it was given to me as a gift.
