After firmware 3 update my Ionic resets after syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since my latest firmware update syncing my Iionic is infrequent, rare with android phone and rarely do notifications work.

I tend to sync on my pc with ionic pluged into usb and charging. After syncing the ionic resets.

Don't know why I have these issues after a firmware update which was done from my pc. Don't know if it is related but my android phone, Samsung S9+, still says firmware update available and just displays the spinning circle if I click on update but does nothing.

Oh I have a blaze which I use for manual work days and Ionic for other times and I have to sysnc both on my pc when changing devices I am wearing.

Welcome to the Community @JP-113! Thanks for the details that you've mentioned.

It's pretty weird that your app is showing an update even when you already did it through the computer. I would like you to double check on your Dashboard to confirm that you have the latest firmware version which is 27.33.1.30. If you don't have this firmware version then, please try to do the update through your app by following these steps How do I update my Fitbit device?

If you continue having syncing issues, try the procedure posted on this article Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Let me know the outcome.

Hi,

Had to use my PC to complete the update to OS3. My phone kept dropping
out with try again or swap to wifi and try again or swap to bluetooth!
My PC timed out 3 times before the update completed to OS3.

My watch still does not sync with my phone very often despite all day
sync and the 2 widgets running. Funny as setting have not been changed
and at one stage a few months ago it would be updating me with
notifications throughout the day. Hardly ever does that now.

Found that the firmware update had timed out. It took 4 attempts each of which appeared to pick up where the last session timed out. It is not my internet which is slow and the Ionic was next to the computer Bluetooth dongle.

The update just did nothing when trying from my phone or at least there was no sign of progress.

So I now have OS 3 installed and no further resets after syncing with my PC.

However syncing with my Samsung S9+ is erratic. It would not sync or display notifications last Sunday or Monday. I used my Blaze Tue,Wed, Thur and back to my Ionic today and it synced and gave notifications all day. Nothing has changed in that time, no setting, nothing.
