I have seen a few posts discussing this issue and having been marked with "Accepted Solutions", but this issue is not at all resolved. I have gone so far as to factory reset my phone and Ionic several times. I've updated Android and the Ionic firmware. Nothing works.
This is absolutely awful and unacceptable. Syncing works initially. Within a day or two, syncing stops functioning. A lot of the time, restarting the phone or Ionic doesn't even fix the issue.
This is a $300 device, Fitbit Team. Please fix it. I'm an IT Professional, and if I am having major issues with the Ionic syncing--there is an issue you guys need to work out. If I want to sync my watch at any time or change watch faces or download a new app, it should work like a $300 device. I shouldn't have to go through hell with my phone or the Ionic just to do basic functions.

I have also realized that syncing with my Galaxy S8+ is laggish too. I am running Android 7.0 and latest firmware on Ionic.
Mine will eventually sync, but it does take some time and sometimes I'll get the red circle with exclamation marc, then i'll do it again and eventually it will sync.
There has been times I have had to force stop the Fitbit app to get it to work too.

I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps. I've toggled bluetooth. I've eliminated the Ionic from the App and then added it back. I've restarted both devices. I've restored both devices to factory settings. No matter what I do, it will work for a period of a day or two and then go back to not syncing at all.

Mine syncs but if I change a watchface, I cannot enter the settings of that watchface. I have tried every possible workaround and nothing. Only after several hours (at least 😎 I can acces the watchface settings but only once, then I cannot acces it again for several hours. I have been patient with this problem, but I cannot accept that a 349€ (in Italy) smartwatch could have so many problems after all this time! I will not start complaining about the random resets during workouts....
Sincerely, if in the next month this problems aren't solved, I will ask for my money back and leave Fitbit for another company with fewer software issuesWhen I try to enter the watchface settings...

I have the same problem with syncing. Worked okay for a few days, now have to "request" syncing on my phone app to get it done. Syncing all day is set to on. Restarted Ionic and Phone. No change. This is not a suggestion for a future improvement, but a request for the $300 product to be fixed.

I have had my Ionic paired with my Galaxy 8 since october. It have always been some troubel, but it have increased after the last firmware update. Now I have to restart my phone and Ionic after two to three days to get Inonic to connect again. I don't have any other bluetooth issues with the phone.

I'm going to need a refund for this watch/tracker. It's useless. I haven't got it to pair since December 27th.
Can I have a Fitbit representative help me with a refund?

Same here, totally useless, problems started day 1 (Jan 5th) and are progressively worse. I've tried everything but a reset of my phone, this needs to be fixed ASAP, wasted 300$ on a useless activity tracker.

What I can't understand, is how Fitbit lets this happen, and even more: Why doesn't this sync issue get fixed? It's totally useless. It's syncing for an hour at a time, then it's silent until some strange occurence 14 days later. I'm fed up.

I'm having the same problem (in the UK) with my ionic synching with my galaxy s6. It synchs erratically, sometimes several times a day, sometimes not for 24 hours or more. And yes, I've been through the forum messages and tried everything to resolve the issue. Am majorly hacked off, wishing I'd saved my money and stuck with my charge 2.
Android/ionic synching is NOT a resolved topic, fitbit! Would like to hear from the mods whether this problem is acknowledged by the company and if it is being worked on.

And it seems to be getting worse.

So I have a solution (short term) and its not a good one that will make anyone happy. In my last post I reported having this problem, about 2 weeks ago (3-4 days after I got my Ionic). At that time I reset my Ionic and did not install any configurable 3rd party apps, or setup some of the configurable 1st party apps. Basically using it fairly bare-bones (flashlight app, swapped out the workouts in exercise, changed the watch face, and setup weather) an since then I have had no problems of any kind. I have a feeling if I try to setup anything more that I will be back in non-sync land with everyone else. Anyone else want to help test this out, I would guess it is a few of the 3rd party app configs that cause the syncing problems. This is obviously not an acceptable solution, and this doesn't appear to be specific to the S8 or S8+ per all the other threads on the topic.

Hello everyone, sorry for my delayed response!
Yesterday a new version of the App was release please update it, and if the syncing issues persist let me know so I can further assist. Check out the What's changed in the latest release of the Fitbit app? article. To update your Fitbit device follow the steps listed on this article.
Hope it helps!

the problem is still a problem since the 22 Jan update. syncing will work if you unpair the watch from your app, then re-pair and re set up. watch will sync. then wont again. so as far as I can tell if I want to sync my watch to phone I have to unpair and repair.
ive asked on another thread but how does one go about getting a refund?

Hello
I am having trouble of my Ionic changed exercises. when I update the exercises on the fitbit APP ( remove yoga and add circuit training) it states on the app that it has been updated, however the Ionic watch will not update. It is on all day sync, it does sync because I can see steps, sleep, activities etc.
Please help
