App notifications selection resets on phone restart

When I first got my Ionic, I selected the apps (on my Pixel XL running Oreo) that I wanted to receive notifications for. A couple days later, I decided that I'd changed my mind since having the Google Play store gets monotonous when it's updating apps. That worked fine, but now I've noticed that any time I restart my phone, the list of apps selected for notifications gets reset to that original list that I had, meaning I start getting notifications for the Google Play store, which I don't want. Basically, I have to re-unselect the apps I don't want notifications for every time I restart my phone, and this has been happening since I got the Ionic at launch.

It's great to have you here @jmcogan! Thanks for the details that you've mentioned. This seems pretty weird as you're just restarting your phone and the app notification shouldn't change. I've tried the procedure that you've mentioned and the apps selection didn't change. I would like you to make sure you have the latest app version which is 2.63 for Android and remove the notifications you have set and then set them up again. Is this still happening?

Hi Silvia, I can confirm that I am experiencing the same problem. Originally I had Google Maps included in the list of apps to send notifications to my Ionic. Some time later I decided I no longer wanted to receive those notifications on my device so I unchecked the box and synced. All is well until I reboot my phone - then magically the box is for Google Maps is checked again. This is certainly a bug that should be addressed. I have not yet attempted the workaround you described, but I will do so and let you know what happens. In the meantime, please pass this issue along to your technical team.

And by the way I am running version 2.64 of the Android app on my Pixel 2.

Same problem on my Pixel 2 XL.

I'm having the same issue.  I saw this with my Nexus 6P and Blaze and now with my Pixel 2XL and Ionic.  It's definitely a bug.  I have Version 2.65.1 (2193243) of the app on my phone and it keeps unchecking apps I want notifications from because I didn't set them up initially.  I have tried re-adding my device as well as wiping it to factory status and starting from scratch again.  It takes for about a day then I no longer receive app notifications from those few apps.  I receive them from everything else.

This has been an issue since the Blaze first got extended notifications, I can't believe it still hasn't been fixed yet.

Same with me. If my phone turns off, all notification and blue tooth settings look fine but I will not get phone or text notifications on my Ionic. This has happened EVERY time my phone dies or I restart it. To correct this, I have to:

1. Delete the Ionic from my Fitbit app

2. Unpair in Blue Tooth in android settings

3. Factory reset the Ionic

4. Add the Ionic to my Fitbit account in the app like a new device set up

5. Turn notifications on in the Fitbit app

Net - What a pain
