Hello,
Since the firmware update, I have noticed that the automatic lap settings for a run start at 5 miles and go up in 5's.
Why???
Every runner wants to know each split per mile, not per 5 miles!!! This needs fixing!!!! If I were to do a 2 mile run, then I wouldn't know my splits???
This feature is the reason I bought this watch and now it's unusable!!
You don't. I've been raising this issue over and over and the last a mod told me was that the devs have seen this issue but there's no timetable for fixing it. I have to go into my watch settings every single run and change it to 1.0. It's absurd that this is still an issue.
I've been looking for a solution for a long time. I started my search again and I found this post on reddit. Surprisingly, the suggestion works.
On the watch itself: Exercise > Run > Settings (gear icon) > Automatic Lap Settings > Lap Every
On the app: Ionic icon (top left) > Exercise Shortcuts > Run > Cue Every
On the Web UI (fitbit.com dashboard): Settings (gear icon, top right) > Ionic (left hand side) > Exercise Cues
THANK YOU!!
Best AnswerNot sure if you found this; in the Fitbit app, go to your Fitbit, then tap exercise shortcuts, then tap Run. Here is where I found that my lap setting had defaulted to every 0.4999...miles. I corrected it to the 0.5 mile lap setting option and my watch default lap setting remains set at 0.5, however, at some unknown interval the lap setting will change back to 0.49999...miles. Since entering a unique lap mile number is not an option (at least for my Fitbit), I don’t how or why this is happening other than a firmware glitch.
