Is there a way to turn off the backlight so it comes on manually? Older versions used to have this feature and now there isn’t an option to make it only light up when I use a button.

I work in a darktoom so that hat feature was very helpful. Now with the light coming on every time I move my arm (which not only reduces battery life) but also stuffs around with my work. I’ve had to put a band around my ionic in order not to have light leaks.

Also my ionic battery used to last 5 days. Now I’m having to charge it every 3 days. I don’t have notifications on etc...

Do a long press of the left button to reach the Screen Wake setting and set it to Manual.

I’ve done that as well. Unfortunately the light still comes on when I move my arm.

Ive reset the ionic a few times now and no joy.

By "reset", do you mean a RESTART?  In any case, try it several times before giving up.  And if that doesn't work and it bothers you enough, you could try a Factory Reset back to when you first opened the box. Swipe left to settings, then about and then  Factory Reset. You will then be instructed to set up

your tracker as you originally did.

Ok I’ll do that. Thank you for you help.

Turning the backlight to manual will not keep the display from turning on with a press of the button or touching the screen.

My ionic is set to manual.

When I move my arm the light comes on. This is with nothing touching the screen and I’m definitely not pressing the button.

My solution has been to just take it off and put it in my bag. This works well.

I've had no problem since setting it to manual.  It only lights up when I touch the screen or press the button.
