A warm welcome to the Community @Judds. It's pretty weird that the screen isn't turning on. I would like you to perform a restart and confirm you're properly charging it.
Keep me posted.

@SilviaFitbitAnother variation, of the blank screen and to my knowledge this has never happened to me before. I'm posting this here so that I have a record.. My Ionic is from the first batch released in Australia a few months ago and other than the syncing issues etc virtually trouble free..
It has Firmware V27.31.1.29 - Updated in 9.5 minutes via 4G+ yesterday.
I thought the Ionic had switched off when I tapped the screen, but having the HR lights flashing made me think otherwise.
It just proved the way I use my Fitbits I didn't lose any steps..
Finally I did a short test, only 130m, same satellite activity and the Ionic connected at the 40m mark. With my connection issue I will always start walking because my step size is accurate and I find the final GPS walk, even if broken, is accurate.

It's great to have you here @Milnesy16! I recommend that you tried restarting your Ionic and check if after this, the screen works properly.
Hope this helps!

@SilviaFitbit I’ve had a replacement ionic from Fitbit for about three months now and it’s been a dream, completely trouble free. Not like my original
Today i I set off on a bike ride, set my ionic to record the ride and off I went. Got back and went to stop the recording and found a completely blank screen and dead ionic. Put it to charge and no life, no sensor flashing and no response to buttons.
I came in on here, as I always do, to see if anyone else had the problem. Found your solution and it worked. My Ionic sprung back to life Sadly no ride recorded but at least the ionic seems to be working. So thank you for your solution @SilviaFitbit I trust this is a one off glitch and not the start of an ongoing problem.
Best AnswerHad the same problem. Was running, vibrated at the 1 mile mark, turned my wrist, it lit up and gave me the stats. A little while later I went to check and see what my heart rate was and it was totally blank, no buttons were working but the HR pulse monitor was still going so not the battery. Read this and the solution, held the left button (back button in the middle) and the lower right button for about 10 seconds and the fit bit icon came on the screen. All seems to be working now for my Ionic, except it lost all the steps and the 3.5 mile run. I will see if it will sync now. Interested to see if it got any of the run.

Thanks for stopping by @GD11009 and @Behive! I'm glad to hear that the restart provided by @SilviaFitbit has worked for you both.
I'm afraid to say that since your tracker shout down during the workout, anything that wasn't synced before this happened is lost. However, you can try manually logging the activity so you will have credit for the activity performed.
Hope this helps, let us know if you need further assistance!

My Iconic screen is blank as of yesterday and will not reset. It is still tracking and syncing to the app.
Best AnswerThe same exact thing has happened to me. I tried to go for a walk this morning using the GPS and by the time I got half way done I noticed my screen wasn't working but the light on the back is still flashing. I have tried resetting it and nothing is happening.

Hey there @robertdcheek! Sorry to hear that the issue was still happening with your Ionic. I saw that you've been in touch with our Customer Support Team. Please check your inbox, next step to follow were already sent to you.
Welcome here @Kdh10, it's great to have a new member here!
Thanks for letting me know you've tried restarting your Ionic.
Have you followed the steps I've posted here to make sure you performed the restart properly? Did you see the Fitbit logo after letting go of the buttons? Is your screen blank or stuck?
Have you tried charging it at least 1 hour? Even if you don't get anything on the screen I'd recommend charging your tracker at least 1 hour to see if the battery icon comes up after that period of time. Charging fully takes about one to two hours.
If after the 1-2 hours you don't get anything on the display, check if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Try cleaning them by following these instructions.
How do you charge your buddy? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.
If so, plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or a UL-certified USB wall charger.
Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the watch until attaches magnetically.
Give this a shot and let me know if this works!

The screen on my Ionic started to fade yesterday and has now gone completely blank. The battery is at about 50%. It is still picking up steps, heart rate etc which I can view on my iPhone. I've tried to restart it, but the screen remains blank.
Need help, went to bed last night, my Iconic was nearly fully charged. Woke up this morning blank screen and will not reset. Charged for three hours and tried to reset, still nothing 😕
Best AnswerIt seems like the troubleshooting process is:
1 - reboot
2 - try to sync
3 - factory reset
4 - replace
I got a week out of mine, which admittedly was second hand. However, given the abundance of forum posts about screen failures, it seems this is a well-documented issue with the Ionic (if not other fitbit products). I've had great experiences with Suunto and Garmin so I'm going back to them.
I had talked to customer service, they could not fix the issue, best they could do was to offer 20% off a new one LOL. I bought an Apple Watch a week later, could not be happier, such a great product. Thanks for trying though
Ionic #3 for me. Most recent one just did the blank screen trick but had been teasing me with losing heart rate for three weeks. I tried all the suggestions. Of course all failed. I really liked the Ionic, but unreliable. Time for a different watch.
Best AnswerI have experienced exactly the same issue this morning on my Ionic and have concluded that it is an ex-ionic.
Tried charging it but all that happens is it gets hot, although my iOS app thinks it synced an hour ago.
Trying 1 more time then getting that Apple watch a little earlier than planned
